Winter Wonderlights

It’s that time of year again. We load up the car and head to one of the coldest spots in Victoria, Ballarat! Well, maybe that’s not entirely true, but we did have to buy gloves from the souvenir shop next to the gold panning, so run up guys! But it it SO worth. Sovereign Hill’s Wonderlights truly are Wonderful. Plus you get to fill the day with all their other awesome activities. Here’s the low down. x Sarah

During the day, Sovereign Hill rings to the tune of traditional carols, with Christmas trees and colourful decorations lining Main Street. ‘Hands-on’ activities for children, a full theatre program, make believe snow falls and delicious treats bringing Christmas cheer to all. You can get involved in all the usual Sovereign Hill fun. We loved the candle-dipping, a trip down the mines, gold panning (mama was the only one who had any luck), coach rides, bowling alley, sweet making demonstrations and watching the Redcoat Soldiers march by.

But as the sun sets and the snowflakes fall, Main Street is be transformed by sparkling grand-scale images and bright Winter Wonderlights dancing along its familiar façades. It is truly a magical experience that you have to see to believe.
