Mama has been watching the construction of this Glen Eira Council beauty for sometime now and are beyond excited it is finally time to play!

Built on the site of an old reservoir, the park celebrates its unique history with parts of the reservoir wall retained to accommodate a sports hit-up wall and ball sports area. There is a tennis net, cricket wickets and footsal goals painted on the wall for all your rebound ball games. Water play is also a huge feature at the park and a nod the areas origin, let’s just hope the sunshine hold up for a bit longer so we can enjoy it.

There are huge grassy areas where we did countless cartwheels, more so the 6yo’s than me, although I’m known to bust out a few, and the area would be perfect for picnicing!

The hero of the area is the huge climbing frame and slide that towers above the whole park. It caters for dozens of kids at once with limitless avenues to climb to the top and slide down the mega-slide.

The additional play space areas provide stimulating and challenging environments for all ages and abilities and includes the exceptional water play area, climbing ropes, a double flying fox and a cool 5 way swing area. And did someone say human hamster wheel?  Yep, you heard right! There is a great sand play area which also includes some water play as well.

There are excellent BBQ facilities and it would make a great spot to do picnic dinner. Make sure you allow lots of time for your visit as you WILL spend hours here!

During the school holidays, Glen Eira Council staff will be on-site daily between 10am and 4pm to assist visitors with any enquiries and Glen Eira have a big Community Fun Day on tomorrow. Find all the details here.
