Toot toot! Look who got a facelift! Aptly named Skinny Park (it is really skinny), this new playground (installed earlier this year) runs alongside the busy Craigieburn train line next to Kensington Station! The playground fits the space perfectly however and has plenty to keep your little ones busy.

The wooden play structure, best suited for smaller kids, features a small climbing wall, wooden bridge, basket swing, normal swings and a small double slide to keep little ones busy. There is a sand pit with a cute coloured car to play in and a little train line track to run along.

But the real hero is the trains. If your children love a bit of train watching, then this certainly is the place. There is even a special little platform to climb up on and watch the Metro trains wizz by on their way to the city with its own station name plaque declaring the station Skinny Park.

There are plenty of cafes and shops on nearby Macaulay Road for some snacks and coffee and the playground has a water bubbler for thirsty little train drivers. Note there are no toilets on-site though.
