Big W is moving with the COVID times and has launched a new “pick up” shopping service for Melbourne shoppers.

In a recent statement Big W shared, “Our heartfelt thoughts are with you and your family, and the entire Victorian community, as together we enter new and uncharted territories to help slow the spread of Coronavirus in Victoria.

“The physical doors to our metropolitan Melbourne stores will be closed until restrictions ease following the six week lockdown, however we remain open online for our Melbourne families, providing safe and convenient ways to help you shop for your everyday essentials.

Contactless Pick up will now be available at external collection zones via a new Drive up offering at each of the 22 stores.

“The safety and wellbeing of our team members in Melbourne is our top priority and we’re working hard to support our teams through these challenging times.”

David Walker, Managing Director of BIG W

“The majority of our team members are now focusing on safely servicing online orders via Home Delivery and Contactless Drive up in our ten hub stores.

“We’re also working closely with the Woolworths Group, successfully redeploying around 500 team members to Woolworths supermarkets so far.”

BIG W has also said customers shouldn’t be concerned about existing orders, Lay-by payments or existing Pick up orders.

“Our customers are already under enough pressure under the new restrictions so rest assured, we won’t be cancelling any orders,” David Walker added.

“We’ll be holding on to any Pick up orders until customers can return to stores or they can utilise our Drive up option, and our 90-day returns policy will be waived until the doors to our Melbourne stores reopen.”

More information, including Drive up, lay-by and returns, and a list of those stores which are temporarily closed for in store shopping can be found HERE.

*Don’t forget to follow mandatory restrictions in your area if leaving the house. Safety first!
