Aldi have their very own Smart Wi-Fi Thermo Cooker called an Ambiano available this Wednesday September 9th, but there’s a catch. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they wont be stocking it in any Victorian stores (probably because they know it will be so sought after and they can’t trust the shopper to socially distance)!
So if you’re in another state, happy days! You can check out how it compares to a traditional Thermomix below, besides the $1,770 price difference:
ALDI sold a similar all-in-one cooker copy back in 2019 but it appears their latest version has a lot of new and improved features making it more like the popular TM6 appliance from Thermomix. Apart from the very different price point, here’s how the two compare.
The ADLI version which retails for $499 comes with:
- 100 recipes pre-installed which walks you through recipes step-by-step
- A Thermo cooker app which allows you to download new recipes or create your own.
- A three-litre capacity jug that allows you to chop, boil, steam, stir, sautee and slow cook.
- A seven-inch touch screen that allows you to scroll through recipes and control heat, time and speed functions.
The Thermomix TM6 which retails for $2,269 has very similar features including:
- Built in WiFi connectivity
- Over 50,000 recipes on their app Cookidoo
- Step-by-step guided cooking on 15.2cm x 20.3cm touchscreen.
- 20 functions and modes, including sear, ferment, slow cook, sous vide, blend, chop, beat, blend, whip, weigh, mill, knead and mince.
- Integrated scales accurate to 1g
- A 2.2 litre jug capacity
You’ll have to get in bright and early to queue for this one!
