Aptly named Finale Park, this brand new, incredible playground is part of the ‘final’ stage of Mirvac’s master-planned community, The Finale Waverley Park.
Encompassing 6.8-hectares, Finale Park is now one of the largest parks in the City of Monash and it’s a stunner!
Inspired by nature and with sensory activities for the kids to explore, the brand new 5,000 square metre play space provides children, and the whole family, with endless adventure. A real stand out is obviously the huge custom wooden play tower with giant green and yellow slides. It’s fully enclosed up there so even though the slide is mighty, the safety is great as well. There is a multi-level rope bridge connecting to a smaller tower and slide, a huge flying fox, fabulous swing area with something for everyone, big basket swing, tunnels and inground mini-trampolines.
Sensory activities for children include timber balance beams, sculptural timber posts, a fun snake shaped water channel and water pump, feature rockwork and planting throughout and a giant sandpit complete with climbing frames and inbuilt digger. There is a shaded seating area with picnic tables and BBQs accompanying the play space, suitable for family and friend gatherings.
The new play space, wetlands and lake also includes a number of walking trails, multiple barbeque and picnic areas, fitness stations, sports and recreation facilities, skate park, basketball court and an abundance of open green space with a connected footpath linking to the new play space.
Within the wider Waverley Park precinct, residents and local community have access to basketball courts, soccer goal posts, bouldering wall, sprint track, outdoor fitness station and of course the Victorian heritage-listed grandstand, the area’s namesake, with retail centre and oval that is home to the Hawthorn Football Club training ground.
So new, Google Maps haven’t even come to the party yet with the road map, but it is marked and you can access this beauty via Stadium Court on the opposite end from Wellington Road.
