There are a few different products on recall currently that you really should be aware of and let your mates know too!

ACCC have recalled the following products due to various safety risks.

IKEA Heroisk and Talrika plastic plates, bowls and mugs

A series of Ikea products have been stripped from the shelves amid concerns they could cause serious harm.

Product Safety issued the recall for the Heroisk and Talrika plastic plates, bowls and mugs.

There are fears the products could break when filled with hot liquid provoking fears this could increase the risk of burns, scalding or serious injury.

The Heroisk bowls, plates and mugs were sold in packs of two while the Talrika range was sold in packs of four.

The light green, red and dark blue Talrika plates are part of the recall as well as the light red mug.

Plum Australia recalls Plum Silicone Soother

The product may have been damaged by its packaging, and the teat may break off the shield. A broken teat may pose a choking hazard for young children, which can lead to severe injury or death.

Thankyou Baby Wipes

There has been a recalled issued for Thankyou baby wipes due to concerns of mould growing on the baby wipes.

Only batch QM1017A Exp: 01/23 11 13:59 is affected by this recall

Wipes with the affected timestamp within the affected batch of baby wipes were manufactured without preservative. As a result, mould may grow on the baby wipes.

What are the hazards?
Exposure to penicillin within the mould spores may cause an adverse reaction or health complications. This may pose a risk to people allergic to penicillin, people with weakened immune systems or those with sensitive skin, including babies.

Consumers should stop using products from the affected batch and contact Thankyou Group for a full refund.

CamelBak Podium and Peak Fitness Water Bottle Caps.

Choking hazard!

The small silicone valve in the cap of affected water bottles may separate from the cap, presenting a choking hazard.

Halcyon Nights Baby Sleep Pouch.

Suffocation risk

The sleep pouch neck opening is wider than necessary and may allow an infant to pull the pouch over their head increasing the risk of entrapment or suffocation.

Mammakiddies Car Booster Seat.

Death or injury risk

The product does not have the correct safety warning label. Child seats without the correct safety warning label may be used incorrectly, posing an increased risk of serious injury or death to the occupant if the vehicle is in an accident.

Russell Corporation Australia Pty Ltd Spalding Basketball Rims.

Injury risk

The products do not comply with the mandatory standard ‘Consumer Good (Basketball Rings and Backboards) Safety Standard 2017’. The products were supplied without the required warning labels and installation instructions. If users are not aware of safety precautions, there is a risk of injury if the products are not installed correctly or if the user swings off the basketball ring.

Drowning risk

The product does not comply with the labelling requirements of the mandatory standard ‘Consumer Goods (Portable Swimming Pools) Safety Standard 2013’.The warning label is a sticker and not a permanent feature and may detach from the pool. Users may not be aware of important safety information about the use of the product (e.g. ensure active adult supervision at all times). There is an increased risk of drowning if the product is not used as intended.

The product does not comply with the labelling requirements of the mandatory standard ‘Consumer Goods (Portable Swimming Pools) Safety Standard 2013’. The wording of the warning label does not meet the requirements of the standard. Inflatable pools without the correct safety warning labelling may be used incorrectly. There is an increased risk of drowning if the product is not used as intended.
