The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a tranquil retreat in the middle of the city, and one of the best things to do in Sydney.

Located in the southern end of Darling Harbour, nestled between Darling Quarter and Darling Square, the Chinese Garden of Friendship is a collaborative effort between Sister States of NSW and Guangdong of China.

Come in and treat yourself to our hectare of peace and tranquillity. Wander serene pathways and take in exotic plants, blooming flowers and a lake of shimmering Koi.

Fish feeding times

Join the Chinese Garden of Friendship’s Interpretation Officers at 11.30am every day by the Lenient Jade Pavilion to feed the magnificent koi. Help the team attract the fish by clapping loudly, then feed these colourful ‘living jewels’.

The koi in the garden are descended from a type of black carp called ‘magoi’ and are fed once a day with floating fish pellets.

When: Daily 10am – 5pm
Where: Pier St, Darling Harbour
