Christmas at QPAC
The Nutcracker
2 – 23 Dec 2022
Whisk the entire family away this festive season to a magical Christmas Eve party where snowflakes flutter, fireplaces crackle, and enchanted toys come alive to frolic and play in The Nutcracker.
Adapted by renowned choreographer Ben Stevenson OBE from the original 19th century Russian classic and featuring the original Tchaikovsky score played live by Queensland Symphony Orchestra, this cherished Queensland Ballet holiday tradition returns to Brisbane for another spell-binding season.
It’s Christmas Eve and under tinsel and twinkling fairylights, young Clara and Fritz are gifted new toys. But a visit from the mysterious Dr Drosselmeyer puts plans in a spin when he gives Clara a special wooden Nutcracker doll.
Spirit of Christmas
16 – 17 Dec
QPAC’s longest running event Spirit of Christmas returns this December to the iconic QPAC Concert Hall.
Two of Australia’s leading musical theatre stars will join a host of special guests in uplifting seasonal song and much-loved Christmas carols, beautifully supported by a full symphony orchestra, and the glorious voices of the QPAC Chamber Choir.
QPAC’s Spirit of Christmas is a celebration of the true meaning of the festive season; an occasion to rejoice and reflect on the year that has passed and embrace the season’s enduring message of Peace, Love and Joy.
