Arnott’s reveal its top Favourite Biscuits of 2022

Arnott’s is taking the lid off the biscuit jar and revealing the biscuits Aussies loved most in 2022.

And the honour of most popular biscuit surprisingly doesn’t go to the iconic Tim Tam, but to the understated, highly versatile Jatz (Savoy if you’re in Victoria or Tasmania).

The cracker with the scalloped edge is an Australian all-rounder, especially perfect for summertime picnics and holiday entertaining. To date this year, Arnott’s has sold almost 23 million packs of Jatz and Savoy this year and can be found in 1/3 Aussie households. It’s safe to say it just isn’t a party if there isn’t a box of Jatz.

Moving down the list tells us a lot about Aussie’s current tastes, differing state by state. In Victoria, Shapes Barbecue run a close second but in Queensland it’s Shapes Chicken Crimpy for the silver medal. Whilst New South Welshmen prefer something sweeter, with Tim Tam biscuits coming in second.

Victorians love Salada enough to slot it into their #5 spot. Whilst Tasmanians (who always do things their own way) love Shapes Barbecue so much that it’s their #1 biscuit – the only state in the nation where Shapes takes the top spot!

And while it’s clear Aussies tend to trend towards savoury more than sweet, the mighty Tim Tam remains a top 5 indulgent chocolate treat in every state, taking the crown as Australia’s favourite chocolate biscuit against all other chocolate biscuits in the supermarket. Arnott’s Scotch Finger rounds out the top 5 for NSW.
