Fairy Bread Day sprinkles hope for foster kids, with The Pyjama Foundation

Join in the fun on 24 November to celebrate National Fairy Bread Day with Melbourne-based confectionery manufacturer, Dollar Sweets, and their charity partner, The Pyjama Foundation! Get ready to relive those joyful yet chaotic childhood memories while adding a splash of colour and meaning to your day.

Thanks to the incredible support of the community, we raised $34,917.20 for The Pyjama Foundation last year and welcomed 23 new mentors into their ‘Love of Learning Program‘. This year, we are setting our sights even higher, striving to make an even more significant impact on the lives of foster children and provide them with the love and care they deserve.

“In Australia, every hour, two vulnerable children enter the care system. Your generous support allowed us to match 23 vulnerable children with their own life-changing Pyjama Angel mentor last year. A huge thank you to Dollar Sweets and the Australian community for supporting children in foster care through Fairy Bread Day,” said Bronwyn Sheehan OAM, Founder and CEO of The Pyjama Foundation.

With over 48,000 children in foster care, The Pyjama Foundation is dedicated to providing educational and emotional support. Each volunteer mentor, known as a Pyjama Angel from their ‘Love of Learning Program,’ spends one hour per week with the children to read, write, and draw. The guidance helps build their confidence and life skills, empowering them to reach their full potential.
