Merlin Entertainments’ Melbourne attractions, SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium and LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre, are hosting a variety of virtual activities to engage and entertain kids during the Spring school holidays!

SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium

SEA LIFE Holiday Camp:

SEA LIFE Melbourne’s first ever school holiday camp allows kids to discover all sorts of information about aquatic animals and their habitats through a series of interactive sessions.

Hosted by a marine education expert via Zoom, each three-hour session focuses on a different animal and includes meeting keepers, interesting activities and plenty of time for questions!

Recommended for kids aged 7-12, the program dives deep into the world of penguins, seahorses, jellyfish, sharks, turtles and crocodiles with the aim of encouraging kids to learn, have fun and connect with the creatures!

SEA LIFE Melbourne’s Holiday Camp can be booked for one or more days and costs $49 per child per session with the option of purchasing a Holiday Camp Activity Kit for $93 (including postage).

Junior Shark Keepers:

Become a Junior Shark Keeper with SEA LIFE Melbourne! Kids can sink their teeth into worksheets, quizzes, live streams and interviews with shark experts, which are all available free of charge on the aquarium’s Facebook page and website during the school holidays.

Kids can get to know the 10 species of shark that live at SEA LIFE Melbourne including grey nurse sharks, Port Jackson sharks, leopard sharks, black reef sharks, speartooth sharks and more! They come in all shapes and sizes and are ambassadors for their species, helping the aquarium raise awareness of the plight of their relatives in the wild. There are also Junior Shark Keeper showbags available for $53 (including postage).

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre

Filmmakers Holiday Camp:

For the first time ever, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is hosting week-long virtual holiday camps for kids! Running for three hours per day during the second week of the Victorian school holidays, the hands-on course for kids aged 7-12 is designed to encourage creativity and teach kids all there is to know about stop motion movie making with LEGO!

Each day kids will learn new LEGO movie making skills including storytelling, directing, framing and set making, before going on to create their very own stop motion movie.

Throughout the program, which takes place on Zoom, there will be special guest sessions with LEGO Masters contestants who will share their tips and advice! The camp concludes with a virtual movie premiere night where each participant can invite their family to tune in to watch the whole group’s LEGO films.

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre’s holiday camp costs $249 per child for five three-hour sessions, with the option of purchasing a LEGO camp kit for $164.95 (including postage).

Boredom Busters:

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is delivering daily Boredom Busters challenges for kids to enjoy at home throughout the school holidays! Available for free on the website and Facebook page, Boredom Busters is made up of videos, worksheets and activities to inspire kids to create, have fun and experiment with LEGO. 

Parents can purchase the Boredom Busters Builder’s Kit to treat their kids to a daily LEGO delight during the school holidays!
