It might be freezing outside right now, but this delicious green smoothie will instantly transport you to your favourite tropical daydream (and provide a whole lot of nutrients and health benefits at the same time).    

Serves: 2 | Preparation: 10 minutes | Cooks in: no cooking required

Ingredients: 

  • 1 x ripe avocado
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks 
  • 1 cup frozen spinach (or 2 cups fresh spinach) 
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • ¾ cup light coconut milk 
  • Juice of 1 x fresh lime 
  • 1 teaspoon honey 
  • Pinch sea salt 
  • 6 x ice cubes
  • Optional: Vanilla protein powder 

Method:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend till smooth. If the consistency is too thick, add more coconut milk or if the smoothie requires more sweetness, add more honey.
