Right now, every 103 seconds a mother dies in pregnancy and childbirth, and globally 2.7 million babies don’t reach their first month of life because they don’t have access to basic health care.

On Wednesday 27 July, MamaMag was lucky enough to be at the launch of the new Thankyou baby range of baby body care and disposable and modern cloth reusable nappy products that will fund child and maternal health programs across the planet.

Mama has always been a proud supporter of the Thankyou brand, so naturally we were beyond thrilled they were launching into our market, babies! Their disposable nappy is the first on the Australian market to feature super gorgeous monochrome prints which are lined with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, while the baby care range is dermatologically tested, smells amazing, is pH balanced and free from nasties like SLS, SLES, EDTA and parabens. But the exciting part is, like their existing brands, 100% of profits from the new Thankyou Baby range will help communities less fortunate than us, this time by funding infant and maternal health programs around the globe.

To support the range, Thankyou has acquired online magazine Wonderful Mama. This move sees the magazine become a social enterprise online content platform for mums, with 100% of the profits going to fund child and maternal health programs. Mama has been a fan of the work Emma Stewart, founder of Wonderful Mama, has been doing already and we are sure it’s a perfect fit to bring fabulous exposure to the Thankyou brand.

Thankyou Co-founder and MD, Daniel Flynn said if the range does well Thankyou could grow its amount given to projects since 2008 from $4.7 million (as at July 2016) to over $10 million by the end of financial year 2018 to help millions of people in need globally.

“Entering into the baby category is a huge risk. One of the world’s leading brands have failed numerous times in Australia and the market has one very strong player already, but we believe Thankyou can succeed because we’ve made a remarkable, quality product that stands out and gives parents the opportunity to make a real impact. Already the response on social media has been incredibly positive, which tells us that customers are not only backing us but they were ready for something new and innovative in the category,” said Daniel.

“Right now, every 103 seconds a mother dies in pregnancy and childbirth, and globally 2.7 million babies don’t reach their first month of life because they don’t have access to basic health care. At Thankyou we believe it’s possible to lower that statistic and quite literally save the lives of mothers and babies through this range,” said Daniel.

We recently chatted to Emily Murray, mama to 4, blogger at Zee Plus Three and Thankyou mummy innovation group member about the new nappies. Emily was one of the first mamas to road test the new range, and who more qualified than a mum with triplet 1 year old babies!

What do you love about the Thankyou nappies?

Of course I love the on-trend monochrome designs, but more than anything, I love the fact that I don’t have to worry about leakages in the middle of the night! They absolutely pass the 12 hour test!

What was the process like of being a part of the mummy innovation group?

I was so honoured to be a part of the Thankyou Baby mummy innovation group. Justine Flynn (Co Founder) is so beautiful, inside and out, and she pulled together a team of inspiring women and influencers to help develop the range.

We gave feedback on designs, product names, and tested all the products (which are amazing BTW!). It was incredible being part of the process and knowing that we were helping create a life-changing range of baby products.

The new Thankyou baby range is now be available at Coles (nappies), Woolworths (baby body care), Priceline (baby body care) and Baby Bunting (baby body care). Ritchie’s will stock the nappies in September. The modern cloth reusable nappy and select products will be available for pre-order online at www.thankyou.co. Get around it mamas!
