The ACCC have issued a recall for a popular cot and high chair due concerns of an injury risk.

The Valentine & Co, Sol Cot and Bebecare Pod Nui High Chair, Childcare Pod High Chair and Childcare Coda High Chair have all been recalled due to concerns over injury risk.

The product does not comply with the mandatory standard. A child could get a toe stuck in the gaps, causing an entrapment hazard that could seriously injure a child.

Consumers should immediately stop using the cot and return to Valentine & Co for a full refund.

What are the defects?
The product does not comply with the mandatory standard ‘Trade Practices Act 1974 – Consumer Protection Notice No.6 of 2005 – Consumer Product Safety Standard for Children’s Household Cots.’

The product does not meet the standard requirements of allowable gaps in the middle loop where the rattan is tied together.

What are the hazards?
A child could get a toe stuck in the gaps, causing an entrapment hazard that could seriously injure a child.

What should consumers do?
Consumers should immediately stop using the cot and return to Valentine & Co for a full refund.

The ACCC has also issued a recall for CNP Brands, Bebecare Pod Nui High Chair, Childcare Pod High Chair and Childcare Coda High Chair due to concerns of injury risk.

The plastic casing at the top of the high chair leg may develop cracks or break, which may lead to the chair legs twisting and can impact on the strength and stability of the chairs legs.

If the plastic shell breaks or cracks and the chair legs becomes unstable, this could result in the chair collapsing, increasing the risk of injury to small children.
