Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organisation behind Sesame Street, and The Wiggles are debuting a reimagining of The Wiggles iconic song “Fruit Salad” today exclusively on YouTube.

Starring The Wiggles—Anthony Field, Lachlan Gillespie, Simon Pryce, and Emma Watkins—and Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, and Elmo, this fun music video features fruit being virtually passed and dropped between screens, adding playful and colourful elements. The song is part of a two-music video collaboration in commemoration of a combined 80 years of children’s entertainment excellence.

“’Fruit Salad’ is one of our most popular songs ever. For many, it is the first song that comes to mind when they think of The Wiggles,” says Anthony Field, Blue Wiggle and founding member of The Wiggles. “We are so excited to share a new and updated take on this classic that includes the vibe and feel that only Sesame Street can provide.”

“We can’t wait to share the laughter and learning of this latest music collaboration with The Wiggles with all of our fans, available today on YouTube,” said Jenny Gioia, VP of Multimedia Programming, Sesame Workshop. “Fruit never looked so fun!”

Both brands recently celebrated milestones, with Sesame Street marking its historic 50th season in Australia last year and The Wiggles kicking off their 2021 celebration of 30 years of children’s entertainment.

The two beloved children’s brands joined forces last month for an updated version of the Sesame Street song “ABCs of Moving You.” Cookie Monster, Elmo, Abby Cadabby and their friends The Wiggles danced and sang through the letters of the alphabet.

Fans can also enjoy a playlist of Favorite Songs from Sesame Street and The Wiggles, featuring 20 songs, available on both the Sesame Street and The Wiggles YouTube channels.
