To celebrate Nature Book Week (6-12 Sept), The Wilderness Society brings together a series of free online talks and live readings for kids to embark on a wilderness adventure, answering all their curiosities and feeding imaginations.
Science communicator and Nature Book Week Ambassador Dr Jen Martin said “When kids read about our natural world, they feel more connected to nature. And feeling connected to nature helps us all to understand how precious our natural environment is, and how important it is we protect it.”
“This Nature Book Week we’re offering kids stuck at home an opportunity to escape, learn and be entertained by a whole lot of fun-filled online activities,” said Dr Martin.
Nature Book Week Events Include:
Threatened Species Day – Tues 7 September, 1PM.
Does your child have a question (or five!) about Australian plants or wildlife? Questions like, how fast can a kangaroo hop, or why does the kookaburra laugh? Join Nature Book Week Ambassador Dr Jen Martin, Professor Euan Ritchie and conservation biologist Dr Kylie Soanes on Facebook Live as they answer questions from your kids.

Storytime with Rove McManus – Wed 8 September, 10AM.
