The Lunar Lanterns are a creative, contemporary interpretation of a centuries-old tradition.

Dragon boat races
Paddlers churn the water as spectators watch the 12m long dragon boats battle it out.
Feel your heart race in time with the on-board drummers as the fiercely decorated dragons slice through the water. In advance of the racing action, Taoist monks perform a blessing of the waters and a unique eye dotting ceremony from 8:30 am on Saturday 5 February. Dabbing red paint onto the eyes of each boat is said to awaken the dragons.

The Rocks Lunar Markets
The air comes alive with the sights, scents and sounds of Asian street food at The Rocks Lunar Markets.
Open Friday to Sunday from February 4 to February 13, the vibrant stalls will be surrounded by live music, bright red lanterns and festoon lighting.
Prepare for a party on the streets and in your mouth with a range of exciting market stallholders to enjoy as fragrant smoke lingers gently in the air, mouth-watering produce sizzles to perfection, and sweet treats are lovingly prepared in front of hungry eyes.
