Melbourne International Comedy Festival has the entire family covered with comedy for all ages offered throughout the Festival and with a bigger program throughout the school holidays.
Kicking off on 9 April and running just over two weeks, Comedy Club for Kids is the ultimate treat to captivate junior comedy fans. Taking place at The Famous Spiegeltent at Arts Centre Melbourne, the program will spark creativity in youngsters aged six to 12 with a supersized variety show designed to delight, including stand-up and sketch, to musical comedy and circus skills.
The Festival’s free outdoor offering, The (Very) Big Laugh Out! will also return this year to Melbourne Museum and Fed Square Main Stage from 1 April and run until 24 April.
The line-up will include Dino’s Got Talent, where familiar Festival faces battle and tumble it out as their favourite dino-stars, and Wantok (AUS & PNG), a cultural comedy like no other, where indigenous song and dance performed by Sean Choolburra, Alyson Joyce and Sean Murphy will aim to open kids’ minds to the compelling history of their native land. The program is suited to audiences aged five to 12 and will see theatre and fun come together in an interactive show to illuminate the past and present of Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Other special guests joining the action-packed line-up at The (Very) Big Laugh Out! include Anna Pocket Rocket, Annie Louey, Clara Cupcakes, Dane Simpson, Garry Starr, Lauren Bok, Oliver Coleman, Patrick Collins, Tash York, The Listies, The Travelling Sisters and many more to keep the holidays unpredictable, fun and most of all free for everyone!
