Turn your pre-loved IKEA furniture into vital support for those impacted by domestic and family violence.

IKEA Australia has launched a new initiative, Buy-back Move Forward, to help support victim survivors of domestic and family violence have a safer life at home.

From 7 April – 21 April 2022, IKEA is transforming its Buy-back service, in partnership with RizeUp – a
community-driven charity providing life-changing support for families affected by domestic and family
violence.

IKEA is encouraging customers to return their pre-loved products through the Buy-back scheme as
normal to receive an IKEA refund card. However, for the next two weeks IKEA will match the customer’s
refund amount and donate these funds to RizeUp.

During the campaign period, customers can choose to spend their refund card in-store as they normally
would, or they can choose to donate all or part of their IKEA refund card to RizeUp. Customers can also
get involved by donating any amount of their choosing at the checkout – even if they don’t have any
IKEA furniture to return.

domestic and family violence, and the reality is this is usually happening in the home. At IKEA we believe
everyone should have the right to a safe life at home, and we have a responsibility to make this a reality

By giving their pre-loved IKEA furniture a second life, customers are helping create safe new homes for individuals and families in need and giving them hope and empowerment to move forward.”

steps to better support its own people.

With this issue so widespread in Australia, it is likely that there are IKEA co-workers who know someone,
or are themselves, experiencing domestic and family violence.

IKEA has worked closely with leading domestic and family violence expert, Associate Professor Kate FitzGibbon, to introduce a series of company-wide policy measures for its 4000 Australian co-workers,
including paid leave, tailored support and safety plans and training programs.
