BAYSIDE 

Bayside Farmers’ Market

The Bayside Farmers’ Market has over 50 stalls of the ‘very best’ in local fresh food and goodies and is run with the assistance of the Rotary Club of Hampton. There is always a petting zoo for the kids and a host of amazing stalls. Plenty of free parking available, especially if you have a Bayside Beach Permit, however Mama recommends parking at the quieter Sandringham Football Club and walking the short distance along the cliff top path, because the view of the yacht club and beyond is to simply stunning!

Beaumaris North Community Market

Held on the first Sunday of every month from 8am to 1pm, this community market is organised by the Rotary Club of Beaumaris and offers top quality fresh produce at a reasonable price and in a wonderful community atmosphere.

 Visitors can relax with a great coffee and BBQ breakfast items. Entry is by a $2 per person or $5 a family donation to Beaumaris Rotary. The community atmosphere is warm and friendly and it’s a terrific place to spend a leisurely Sunday morning. All the donation monies collected by Rotary and proceeds of the Beaumaris North Community Market go towards supporting local and overseas initiatives, particularly youth related causes.

Bentleigh Farmers’ Market

East Bentleigh Primary School was a market garden area until the 1950s, and horses would haul carts full of fresh vegies from the area into Melbourne. The market, in conjunction with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen program, embraces the schools philosophy of creating a nurturing environment for the students to learn and grow. Entry is by $2 donation with funds collected to be directed to the school garden program.

Gasworks Farmers’ Market 

Revel in local produce from stallholders who have a simple philosophy; that their goods are grown, made and known by those who sell them and that the quality of produce is of the utmost importance.

Caulfield Farmers’ Market

Kingston Farmers’ Market

This market is run by the City of Kingston in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Chelsea. It started in 2004 and has a loyal following of regular shoppers who come along each month regardless of the weather. There are around 65 stallholders with a wide range of farm fresh produce for you to enjoy.

Veg Out | St Kilda Farmers’ Market

This community run authentic farmers’ market features Victorian growers and artisan makers only, including many from the Veg Out Community Gardens! Veg Out is an organic, chemical free garden market run by volunteers behind Acland St, near Luna Park. Shop up a storm then explore and enjoy the community gardens while you are there.

Mornington Farmers’ Market

The market showcases a range of produce from the Mornington Peninsula and regional Victoria including organic vegetables & fruit, sourdough breads, local mussels, grass-fed meats, cheeses, free-range eggs, home-made conserves, olive oil, sweet treats and much much more!

Market shoppers can enjoy the tunes of local musicians while they peruse the stalls. Hot food and good coffee is available at each and every market

Croydon Farmers’ Market

Croydon Farmers’ Market is a Regional Farmers Market which means that all the produce you find here is authentically local. Farmers Markets support sustainability by reducing the amount of food miles to get to the customer. This means that less CO2 is emitted into the atmosphere so you can feel extra good shopping here!

Collingwood Children’s Farm

Such a Melbourne treasure. It is located only 4kms from the CBD, yet feels like a world away from the hustle of city. Melbourne’s first farmers’ market was launched in the back paddock of Collingwood Children’s Farm in October 2002, and the market remains in this idyllic location today and offers a treasure trove of fresh produce.

Boroondara Farmers’ Market

The Boroondara Farmer’s market is the perfect chance to stock up on farm-fresh supplies and delicious treats.

You can purchase all manner of fruit and vegetables, free-range eggs, handmade pasta and sauces, breads, jams and biscuits direct from the producers. With your shopping done, sit and enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a fresh pastry in the sunshine. Entry to the market is a $2 donation. Foundation Boroondara and the Rotary Club of Glenferrie share the entrance donation and stallholder fees.

Camberwell Fresh Food Market

Join those who know where to buy the freshest and best at this daily produce market selling meat, seafood, fruit and vegetables. It’s a great little market with high quality produce from fruit and vegetables, seafood, poultry, meats and sausages to a gourmet selection of delicatessen items from five different delis. Superb Illy’s cakes, specialising in gluten free, and a range of multicultural takeaway items can be found as well! Culinary inspiration for your dining table!

Eltham Community Craft and Produce Market

The Eltham Market is a place where locals and visitors alike come to enjoy a community atmosphere in a delightful setting, eat some tasty food, take home a gift, buy some fresh fruit and vegetables, listen to good music or find a special artistic ornament or craft for their home. There are up to 120 stalls. There is free car parking or the market is just a short distance from the Eltham Railway Station.

Healesville Community Market

River St Car Park: In behind the main street shops you will find  around 105 stalls, from the local scouts with their sausage, burger and cold drink stall getting the taste buds going, to crafts, homemade jams and sauces, bric-a-brac, clothing, jewellery, plants, books, toys, tools, olive oil, fresh produce, eggs, fruit and veggies and even the Nut Lady is there!

Coronation Park: Set under the tall trees and along the bitumen you will find over 40 stalls consisting of a vast array of homemade products (soaps, honey, jam, crafts), plants, books, sausage sizzle, coffee van and of course fresh produce.

Kinglake Produce and Artisan Market

With great coffee, wines, hot and cold foods (including food trucks), crafts, wines, soaps, candles, quilts, dips, fresh fruit and veg, meat, gift ideas and much more. There is also face painting and jumping castle for the kids, . 

Boasting only one of anything, the market is set in the beautiful scenic landscape of Kinglake. Dog friendly market, welcoming dogs on leads. 

They also have an indoor Winter location for June – August months offering under cover shopping no matter the weather.

Whitehorse Farmers’ Market

A wide range of stalls and a good balance of produce from fruit, vegetables and meats through to bread, cakes, pasta, eggs, chutneys and olive oils can be found here. Enjoy a bacon and egg sandwich and a freshly brewed coffee whilst you shop the many stalls. 

The market is operated by the combined Whitehorse Rotary Group on behalf of local council and the whole community receives a range of economic, social and health benefits from the market with a commitment by Rotary to put all the funds they raise towards community projects in Whitehorse.

Wheelers Hill Farmers’ Market

Often referred to as as Jells Park South Farmers’ Market, this great monthly market has over 40 fresh produce stalls including some plants. Grab a hot breakfast and shop to your heart’s content. Entry to the market is free, it’s right near the playground and toilets and there is plenty of parking on site. 

3rd Saturday of the month, 8am-1pm.

Mulgrave Farmers’ Market

With over 60 stalls selling everything from seasonal fruit and vegetables to fresh-cut flowers and the finest home-made edibles, this fun market is hosted in the grounds of The Body Shop’s Headquarters.

The market provides a fun and vibrant community hub. There is a children’s area, music, community events, hot food, refreshments and bagfuls of bonhomie. What’s more, every dollar raised from the market will help fund charitable projects supported by the Wise Foundation. So bring your kids, coax your neighbours, soak in the village atmosphere and enjoy a rare occasion where you can honesty say, ‘every one is a winner’.

Carlton Farmers’ Market 

Carlton Farmers’ Market was the launch pad for the social enterprise Harari Foods, with support from the City of Melbourne; and will continue to build on waste-free initiatives through the City of Yarra Partnering for Sustainability grant. Bring your own coffee mug and reusable bags to the market, and make a positive impact on our local food system and the environment! There is a playground and open spaces for the kids, plus outdoor seating to relax and enjoy the market fare.

Alphington Farmers’ Market

This weekly market features seasonal fruit and vegetables, free range pork, beef, lamb, chooks and eggs, milk straight from the dairy, seedlings, olives and olive oil and nuts. Some you’ll know from other markets whilst others are having their first taste of selling direct to their customers. You’ll find brekkie and brunch stalls (using local ingredients sourced direct), coffee, freshly squeezed juices, handmade pastries and chai brewed on the spot. And that’s just the beginning…

The Flemington Farmers’ Market

Another great weekly market to get your seasonal produce direct from farmers, this was  Melbourne’s first weekly farmers market and offers a valuable resource if you miss your local monthly market but still want to catch up with your favourite producer or provider.

Bundoora Park Farmers’ Market

This small farmers’market has over 35 stalls with local produce, fresh fruit and vegetables. Bring the family, your dog (on leash), shopping jeep, baskets and green bags for a great shopping experience. Entry to the market is free and there is be plenty of parking.

North Essendon Village Farmers’ Market

Run by Regional Farmers Markets, who have a team of over 250 growers and producers, you can expect amazing quality and produce here and they have always had strict criteria for all stallholders to follow in bringing their authentic produce to market.

Hurstbridge Farmers’ Market

The market has a range of stallholders from Nillumbik and surrounding regions selling free range meats (including pork, beef and buffalo), fresh seasonal fruit & vegetables, olives & extra virgin olive oil, honey, eggs, cheeses, bread, wine, gluten-free products and a range of specialty produce. Dogs are allowed on lead.

Coburg Farmers’ Market

In addition to the wonderful array of Victorian producers and food businesses that attend each week, there is often an animal farm, reptile display, face painting or chalk drawing happening – always something extra for the kids.

Altona Beach Market

The Altona Village Traders Association holds a local market every Tuesday featuring fresh local produce and local crafts and art. The Slow Food Melbourne Farmers’ Market, Spotswood

Slow Food Melbourne works with local producers, growers, makers and other food organisations to champion resilient food systems through their projects. This is a new location for 2019, having previously been at Abbotsford Convent.

Geelong Waterfront Makers and Growers Market

Right in the centre of town on the beautiful water front, this picturesque market has been run by the Rotary Club of Geelong Central for the past 23 years and has raised much needed funds for the local communities. Two minutes from the train and there’s even a playground.

Queen Victoria Market

A Melbourne icon and tourist attraction, this is still a fantastic place to shop. Wander through the bustling meat, fish and dairy halls, where you can pick up artisan cheeses, dressed meats and takeaway food, or discover the seemingly endless array of seasonal fruit and vegetables showcasing the best of Australian produce.

Woodend Community Farmers’ Market

If you fancy a bit of a road trip, this is the newest addition to the Macedon Ranges Farmers’ Market circuit. Woodend’s lovely market features great live entertainment from the delightful Sarah, free face painting for the kids by local artist Fiona Fraser, a community BBQ serving locally produced meats, plus organic vegetarian fare from Organic Sunrise and coffee and chai from Lotus Chai.

Expect fresh vegetables and fruit, olive oils, beef, pork, free-range eggs, organic sourdough breads and other treats, honey, herbs, seedlings, livestock feeds, preserves and much more!

Dogs welcome on a leash and of course please bring your bags, baskets and trolleys.

Gisborne Olde Time Market

Food, arts and craft, the Gisborne Market has over 250 stalls offering a large range of products. Food and wine, fresh produce, quality hand made items, arts and crafts, clothing, accessories, jewellery, books, plants and fresh flowers. Funds raised from the markets have been and will continue to be used for the beautification of Gisborne’s parklands, the provision of local facilities and in on-going support of other voluntary groups. Gisborne is also a historic town in the Macedon Ranges, 54 km north-west of Melbourne.

Riddells Creek Farmers’ Market

This used to be Mama’s local and the kids still adore it. Locally grown produce, as fresh as can be…..Look out for beef, lamb, pork, seasonal fruit and vegetables, honey, olives and olive oil, eggs, walnuts, bread, pastries, homemade fresh pasta and sauces, wine, jams and preserves, alpaca fleeces and garments, eucalyptus products, dips, raw chocolate, cupcakes, live poultry to name but a few! Sample a gourmet snag on the community BBQ, enjoy live local music with a coffee and cake while kids get a free face paint!
