If you’ve ever let fear get in the way of your desire to dive with sharks, now is your (water-free) chance!
The Australian Museum has announced Erth’s Shark Dive, a hands-on family friendly performance running from 3 – 29 January 2023 as part of Sydney Festival.
Erth’s Shark Dive is an interactive theatrical experience that brings participants face-to-face with these sublime creatures, through a larger-than-life puppet performance created by world-renowned puppeteers, Erth Visual & Physical Inc.
Shoals of frenzied fish flee, stingrays scatter out of the way to make way for the majestic beauty of a 4-metre great white shark in this immersive underwater theatrical experience.
In addition to breathtaking visuals, visitors will be challenged to either take a risk or play it safe with a choice of a “thrilling” or “peaceful” soundscape acting as a soundtrack to their experience.
Erth’s Shark Dive is a new commissioned performance to complement the Australian Museum’s blockbuster Sharks exhibition, which explores the diversity of these ancient predators with eleven life-size shark models, interactive experiences and specimens from the Museum’s collection.
Come on in, the water’s fine!
