Being a new mum is definitely not easy. Add to that all the unwanted tips and advice you often receive it can be very confusing that’s for sure.

Here are just some pieces of advice our mama’s said they wish someone had told them before they became a first time mum….

What new mums wish they knew…

Love on that baby because it won’t feel like it, but it will be over before you know it.

Breastfeeding is hard and it’s ok if it doesn’t go perfectly or to plan.

Ignore a lot of the advice you will get. You’re the mum, only you will know your baby best.

Get some Tena lady!!

Embrace the chaos… don’t fight it or try and fix it.

Don’t listen to any unsolicited advice.

I wish somebody told me there is a breastfeeding organization and support. It would been so much easier. Visit Australian Breastfeeding Assoc.

Don’t sweat about the small stuff.

Don’t be too hard on yourself.

Don’t be afraid to admit you need help!

Everything else can wait!

You only have 16-18 short Summers with your child. Appreciate every second!

Don’t take it personally!

Being a parent is definitely the hardest job yet biggest privilege you will ever face. You won’t always get it right the first time, just keep on swimming, try a different path and keep showing up for your child. That’s the most important thing you can do.
