Time for some Red Wiggle double joy! The Wiggles family is pleased to announce that Caterina Mete, who became a Red Wiggle in 2021, is pregnant and expecting identical twin girls in July. 

Caterina’s journey to motherhood has been filled with hope, resilience, and the marvels of modern science. After a challenging journey through IVF, with the support of an anonymous donor provided by her fertility clinic, Caterina is now celebrating the impending arrival of her “beautiful little miracles.” 

“Reflecting on this personal milestone, said, “”Becoming a mother has always been a dream of mine. I feel overwhelmingly blessed to share that I am expecting two beautiful little miracles. This journey has been challenging, but filled with so much love and support. I am immensely grateful for the incredible team at my fertility clinic and the technology that has made this possible. I can’t wait to meet my twin girls and embark on this exciting new chapter of my life. I’d also like to thank everyone at The Wiggles for their unwavering support.”

Caterina’s remarkable two-decade career with The Wiggles began as a friend to Dorothy the Dinosaur, eventually evolving into roles such as Head of Wardrobe, Dance Captain, Choreographer and, in 2021, the Red Wiggle. In each role, combined with her tertiary credentials in Early Childhood studies, Caterina’s creativity and expertise have significantly enhanced the group’s performances, delighting audiences worldwide. 

The Wiggles expressed their heartfelt congratulations and support for Caterina, stating, “We are overjoyed and filled with pride as we prepare to welcome two new beautiful members to The Wiggles’ family. Caterina’s strength, courage, and unwavering optimism have inspired us all. We cannot wait to meet her twin girls and watch her embrace the joys of motherhood.” 

Caterina continues performing and recording with The Wiggles until her maternity leave later in the year, with their next live shows at the upcoming Wiggle Groove tour starting in Sydney on Saturday, 9 March, with performances across New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria.
