Big W Toys for Joy program is recycling old toys to build more joy for kids in need.

BIG W know as families grow, children tend to grow out of their old toys, and with few options to recycle them, they often end up in landfill. That’s why, as part of their sustainability journey, they are launching Toys for Joy – old toy recycling initiative, launching across 41 BIG W stores from October 2021.

Big W have partnered with TerraCycle to recycle your old toys, to contribute to a joyful future. This includes making play experiences for kids, because they believe all kids should be able to play, discover and let their imagination run free.

So, do you have old, broken toys cluttering up your home? Don’t bin them, donate them at your participating BIG W. Just drop them into a Toys for Joy chest in store, where all donations get passed onto TerraCycle to be given a second life.

Please note, not all toys can be recycled: Big W can’t accept – books; batteries in toys; board games; wooden toys; Play-doh, paint and slime; pens, pencils, crayons or paint brushes; oversized toys such as bikes, scooters, skateboards; sports toys such as soccer goals.
