Calling all whale lovers! The latest development at Harpley Estate (stage 68), by Lend Lease Communities, is home to two white whales! This new playground takes a more sculptural and organic form than its nearby park friends, this spectacularly detailed design references a mother and baby whale body including a large feature tail.
The two structures are crafted from white coated stainless steel and are quite fluid and permeable, incorporating curves and soft lines and rope over rigid timber decking. Both structures cover a broad age range, with the baby whale suited for younger users. A double swing frame and talk tube are cleverly integrated into the whalebone structure and expertly mimic the whale’s abstract form.
There is plenty to climb with lots of blue rope netting and structures, two slides of varying sizes, a huge basket swing, all above either soft fall mulch or fun blue rubber, with semi-shaded BBQ pavilion, half-court basketball and toilet block alongside.
