Hooray, the latest newbie in Bayside Council’s $10m playground upgrades. This beauty opened at the start of September and there is much fun to be had in amongst the bright pink and green rubber matting. Whilst the playground isn’t massive, it’s very cool and fun and is a giant improvement on what was here before.

The main stand out feature is the large green slide atop its rubbery striped bubble gum pink hill. The colour combo both compliments its natural surrounds and is fun and playful. There is a smaller red slide and climbing frame for the toddlers and the playground features lots of great climbing ropes and bridges to test your agility. There’s a huge swinging basket and normal swings to be found. A spinning platform embedded in the ground (so it won’t hurt too much if you go flying off!) is a great all abilities feature too. There is even a real life snakes and ladders game where you can spin the dice and take turns jumping around the 3D board.

Of course this playground is part of the much larger Dendy Park, so there is oodles of grass to run about on, bbqs, picnic shelters, toilets and plenty of parking both in the side streets and across the grounds at the football club carpark.

And if you’re up for more adventure, head over to the other playground on Dendy Street for some sandy fun. The entire playground is built in a giant sandpit! Don’t forget your shovel.
